Tree Planting – Jubilee Day – Tuesday 5th June
Work is presently underway to
plant 60 sweet chestnut trees along what is presently known as King George VI Avenue
in the arboretum. The walk will then be known as “Jubilee Walk” to commemorate the
diamond jubilee of HM The Queen.
On Jubilee Day, Tuesday 5th
June 2012, at 10:30 am, the final 2 trees will be planted in a special “topping
off” ceremony organised by Walsall Volunteer Tree Wardens and sponsored by The
Rotary Club of Walsall.
After the ceremony refreshments,
supplied by the Inner Wheel Club of Walsall, will be available at nominal cost.
King George VI Avenue is most
easily accessed by the entrance to the Arboretum situated off Sutton Road/ The
Crescent, where car parking is available.
All are welcome to attend!!
