Visitors from Singapore

On Monday 17th September the Urban Forestry Dept. welcomed a delegation from the National Parks Board of Singapore who spent the afternoon viewing the improvements to the Victorian Park as well as visiting the Gallery Garden, Woodland Wildlife Garden and Community Orchard.

Afternoon tea was provided by volunteers of the User Group  in the Ladies Bowls Clubhouse. The delegates appeared to be considerably impressed by the range of aspects available in the Arboretum.

Bandstand Marathon

Sunday September 9th saw the park open for the Bandstand Marathon as part of the 2012 celebration of the Cultural Olympiad. Over 8,000 visitors enjoyed a wide range of 'hands on' activities spread around the Arboretum.

The 'Art in the Park' activities provided by the User Group in the newly established Gallery Garden included wood sculpting, clay work, cake decorating and painting etc., attracted thousands of people.

Many thanks to all the artists who were on hand to demonstrate and share their talents.
